Great Smoky Mountains National Park



Great Smoky Mountains National Park, park situated in the Great Smoky Mountains, on the Tennessee-North Carolina boundary, established in 1930. The highest of its 16 peaks is Clingmans Dome, 6,642 ft (2,024 m) high. The park's lush forests, shrubs, and plants include several varieties of orchid. The Cherokee were the original settlers of the region.
