Great Basin



Great Basin, desert region in the western region of the United States between the Wasatch and Sierra Nevada mountains, in Nevada, Utah, and parts of adjacent states. A subdivision of the Basin and Range physiographic province, the Great Basin of Nevada contains Death Valley, Reno, Las Vegas, and Salt Lake City. Mineral mining and agriculture are the main industries.
