Ginkgo

Ginkgo, or maidenhair tree (Ginkgo biloba), tree with fan-shaped leaves that is often grown in cities because of its tolerance for smoke, low temperatures, and mineral water. A “living fossil,” the ginkgo is the remnant of a group of trees that flourished over 100 million years ago.
