Sir Francis Galton



Galton, Sir Francis (1822–1911), British scientist, author of Hereditary Genius (1869). The founder of eugenics (talent is inherited) and biostatistics (the application of statistical methods to animal populations), Galton developed one of the first systems for identifying fingerprints.
