Gall



Gall (c. 1840–94), Sioux chief who aided Sitting Bull in defeating General Custer at the Battle of the Little Bighorn (1876). After a subsequent battle in 1881, he surrendered and settled in a reservation in the Dakota Territory, where he worked to improve relations between Native Americans and white settlers.
