Naum Gabo



Gabo, Naum (Naum Pevsner; 1890–1977), Russian sculptor, pioneer of constructivism. With his brother, Antoine Pevsner, he issued the Realist Manifesto (1920). After he left Russia, he taught at the Bauhaus in Germany (1922–32). In 1946 he emigrated to the United States. He is noted for his kinetic sculptures and geometrical constructions in metal, plastic, and nylon.
