Ford Motor Company



Ford Motor Company, one of the U.S. automotive industry giants, established in 1903 by Henry Ford. The Ford Motor Company has about 75 assembly and manufacturing plants in the United States, the largest of which is near Detroit, Mich. Manufacturing subsidiaries are Canada, Mexico, South America, Europe, and Australia. Ford is also a joint owner with companies in Asia, South Africa, and Turkey. Production of the Model Ν began in 1906, followed by the Model Τ in 1908 and the Model A in 1928. The company now builds Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln automobiles, trucks, tractors, and other farm and industrial machinery.
