Ford Madox Ford



Ford, Ford Madox (Ford Madox Hueffer; 1873–1939), English author. His novels The Good Soldier (1915) and the tetralogy Parade's End (1924–28), describe the decline of the English upper classes before World War I. As first editor of The English Review (1908–11), he encouraged such writers as Joseph Conrad (with whom he also collaborated), Ezra Pound, Robert Frost, and D.H. Lawrence.
