Esther Forbes



Forbes, Esther (1891–1967), U.S. author of historical novels. In 1943 she won the Pulitzer Prize in American history for her biography Paul Revere and the World He Lived In. In 1944 she won the Newbery Medal for her young adult novel Johnny Tremain, about a young apprentice during the time of the American Revolution.
