Fonda



Fonda, family of U.S. actors. Henry Fonda (1905–82), appeared in over 80 films, notably The Grapes of Wrath (1940), The Ox-Bow Incident (1943), and Twelve Angry Men (1957). He won an Academy Award for his performance in On Golden Pond (1981), in which his daughter, Jane Fonda (1937– ), also appeared. She won Academy Awards for her performances in Klute (1971) and Coming Home (1978). She is also known for her political activism. Her brother, Peter Fonda (1939- ), coproduced and starred in Easy Rider (1969), a film that made him a popular antihero of a generation.
