Fluoridation



Fluoridation, addition of small quantities of fluorides to public water supplies, bringing the concentration to 1 part per million, as in some natural water. It greatly reduces the incidence of tooth decay by strengthening the teeth. Despite some opposition, many authorities now fluoridate water.
