William Floyd



Floyd, William (1734–1821), leader in the U.S. fight for independence and a N.Y. signer of the Declaration of Independence. He was a member of the Continental Congress from 1774 to 1777 and from 1778 to 1783. He served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1789 to 1791.
