Minnie Maddern Fiske



Fiske, Minnie Maddern (Marie Augusta Davey; 1865–1932), U.S. actress known for her performances of the modern realistic dramas of the Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen. She made her stage debut at age 3, performing children's roles for several years and making her first appearance in an adult role in 1882. She married the playwright and theatrical manager Harrison Grey Fiske in 1890. She achieved her first major success in the 1897 dramatization of Thomas Hardy's novel Tess of the D'Urbervilles.
