Field hockey

Field hockey, team game played with a stick and a leather ball. Two teams of 11 players each play on a field measuring 90–100 yds (82–91 m) long by 50–60 yds (46–55 m) wide. Players advance the ball by hitting it with a stick toward their goalpost at the end of the field. Only the goalkeeper may kick the ball.
