Federico Fellini

Fellini, Federico (1920–93), Italian film director. His first major success was La Strada (1954), a film starring Anthony Quinn and Fellini's wife, Giulietta Masina. His early films, such as La Dolce Vita (1960), portray human disillusionment in a corrupt society. Later films such as 8 1/2 (1963) and Satyricon (1970) are often dreamlike and fantastic. In 1992 he received an Oscar for his works.
