Lyonel Feininger



Feininger, Lyonel (1871–1956), U.S. artist. Influenced by cubism, his style is based on planes of color that create geometric designs. He lived in Germany (1887–1936), teaching at the Bauhaus (1919–32). Also a caricaturist, he produced a comics page for the Chicago Tribune (1906–07).
