Eulachon



Eulachon, saltwater fish (Thaleichthys pacificus) of the smelt family, native to the North Pacific. The 8-in (20-cm) fish are harvested with nets when they swim up rivers to spawn. West Coast Native Americans dried the fish to use as candles.
