Erik Homburger Erikson



Erikson, Erik Homburger (1902–94), German-born U.S. psychoanalyst who defined 8 stages, each characterized by a specific psychological conflict, in the development of the ego from infancy to old age (Childhood and Society, 1950). He also introduced the concept of the identity crisis.
