Emu



Emu, flightless, ostrichlike bird (Dromiceius novaehollandiae) of Australia, having long, coarse feathers that hide its wings. Emus are large (up to 6 ft/1.8 m tall) and are fast runners. The male incubates the eggs and guards the chicks.
