Employee Stock Ownership Plan



Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), program allowing workers to own part of the stock in a company. Each worker's share is usually proportionate to his or her salary. The company also contributes to the ESOP on a regular basis. Employees either cash in their shares upon retirement or collect yearly dividends.
