Electromagnetic waves

Electromagnetic waves, patterns of electric and magnetic force. Gamma rays, X-rays, ultraviolet light, visible light, infrared rays, microwaves, and radio waves are different kinds of electromagnetic radiation, all of which behave as waves. In 1865 the Scottish scientist James Clerk Maxwell published his equations describing the behavior of electromagnetic waves. These equations have proven to be one of the most successful theories of modern science.
