Dust storm



Dust storm, heavy winds carrying fine particles of earthy materials such as clay and silt for long distances. In the United States, a dust storm is declared when blowing dust reduces visibility below 5/8 mi (1 km). One of the factors causing soil erosion, dust storms occur where the ground has little vegetation to protect it.
