Division



Division, major combat unit of the U.S. armed forces. Army divisions consist of from 6 to 15 battalions and function as self-contained units that include all the services and equipment needed to conduct military campaigns. Marine divisions are made up of 3 regiments, while Air Force divisions are composed of 2 or more wings.
