Delaware River



Delaware River, major waterway (about 410 mi/660 km long) in the eastern United States. Originating in the Catskill Mountains of New York, the river flows southeast, forming part of the Pennsylvania-New York border, then southward through the Delaware Water Gap, forming the boundary between New Jersey and Pennsylvania. It empties into Delaware Bay. It is connected to Chesapeake Bay on the west by the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal.
