Deborah



Deborah, prophet and judge in the Old Testament. A member of the tribe of Ephraim, she enlisted the Israelite leader in the fight against the Canaanites, led by Sisera. After the battle at Mt. Tabor, in which the Canaanites were routed, she sang a song of victory (Judges 5), “The Song of Deborah,” dedicated to the God of Israel.
