Édouard Daladier



Daladier, Édouard (1884–1970), French premier (1933–34, 1938–40) who, with British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, signed the 1938 Munich Agreement abandoning Czechoslovakia to Hitler. Ousted after failing to aid Finland against the USSR, he was imprisoned by the Vichy government after the fall of France. After the war, he served as a member of the National Assembly (1946–58), as a representative of the Radical Party.
