Cronus



Cronus, in Greek mythology, king of the Titans and ruler of earth. He deposed his father, Uranus, with the help of his mother, Gaea. Cronus married his sister, Rhea, and their children were Zeus, Poseidon, Demeter, Hera, Hades, and Hestia. He was overthrown by Zeus, who succeeded him as king of the gods. Cronus's Roman counterpart was Saturn.
