Crocus



Crocus, genus of perennial herb of the iris family, originally from Asia and the Mediterranean, usually bearing a solitary blue, yellow, or white flower. The yellow dye, saffron, is produced from the dried flowers of one species. The wild crocus is a member of the buttercup family.
