Fritz Zwicky



Zwicky, Fritz (1898–1974), Swiss-born U.S. astronomer and astrophysicist best known for his studies of supernovas, which he showed to be quite distinct from, and much rarer than, novas. He also did pioneering work on jet propulsion.
