Zog



Zog (Ahmedi Bey Zogu; 1895–1961), king of Albania (1928–46). After serving in the Austrian army he was made premier (1922–24) and president (1925–28), whereupon he proclaimed himself king. He fled when the Italians invaded, and he spent the rest of his life in exile.
