Zealots

Zealots, Jewish religious and political fanatics in Palestine about the time of Jesus. Led by Judas of Galilee and Zadock the priest, they resisted Rome and its collaborator Herod the Great, but they later perished (A.D. 70) with the destruction of Jerusalem. St. Simon the Apostle may have been a Zealot.
