Babe Didrikson Zaharias



Zaharias, Babe Didrikson (1913–1956), U.S. athlete. Considered the greatest woman athlete in history, between 1930–32 she won national hurdles, javelin, baseball throw, broad- and high-jump titles, and set an Olympic 80-m hurdles and javelin records (1932). A top U.S. woman golfer, she won the U.S. Women's Open 3 times (1948, 50, 54).
