Yorkshire terrier



Yorkshire terrier, breed of toy dog developed in Yorkshire and Lancashire, England, in the mid-19th century to hunt rats. Yorkies stand 8–9 in (20–23 cm) at the shoulder and weigh 4–8 lb (2–2.3 kg). Their long, straight, silky coat is bluish gray, with tan on the head and chest.
