Wicker

Wicker, material woven from flexible plant fiber or willow twigs. Furniture, especially in hot climates, has been made from wicker since the days of ancient Egypt. Wicker has been appreciated as a durable as well as comfortable and attractive material. Bamboo, rattan, reed, and cane are natural plant fibers used for wicker. Modern synthetic wickers have been developed from materials such as treated twisted paper fibers.
