Whitman Mission National Historic Site



Whitman Mission National Historic Site , landmark in southeastern Washington state, near Walla Walla, site of the first mission school in the Pacific Northwest. The mission, established 1836 by Marcus Whitman and his wife, Narcissa Prentiss Whitman, was a landmark on the Oregon Trail.
