Welsh springer spaniel

Welsh springer spaniel, breed of dog. This sporting dog can withstand long hours, poor weather, and rough terrain as a retrieving companion to a hunter. Welsh spaniels need careful training, though, because of their tendency to roam. They stand up to 17 in (43 cm) at the shoulder and weigh from 35–45 lb (15.75–20.25 kg). Their fur, including that on their tail, legs, and chest, is white with red patches or spots.
