Washington's Birthday

Washington's Birthday, federal holiday celebrated on the third Monday in February in honor of the first president of the United States, George Washington. He was born Feb. 11, 1732, but the 1752 calendar reform changed the date to Feb. 22. In some states the Monday holiday also honors President Abraham Lincoln, who was born on Feb. 12; it is then called President's Day.
