Wasatch Range



Wasatch Range, part of the Rocky Mountains that stretches southward from northern Utah into southern Idaho. The range is about 140 mi (225 km) long and its height averages about 10,000 ft (3,000 m). Its highest peak is Mt. Timpanogos, at 11,750 ft (3,581 m). West of the Wasatch Range lies a lake valley in which the Great Salt Lake and Salt Lake City are located. Streams from the Wasatch Range are used to irrigate farmlands in the valley.
