Sir William Turner Walton



Walton, Sir William Turner (1902–83), English composer. He had a brilliant early success with Façade (1923), a chamber work set to poems by Edith Sitwell. Other works include the oratorio Belshazzar's Feast (1931), film scores (notably for films of Shakespeare plays), and the opera Troilus and Cressida (1954).
