Trace elements

Trace elements, minerals that make up all human, animal, and plant life. Small quantities of trace elements are needed to ensure the normal action of enzymes and hormones. In humans, lack of essential minerals such as iron may result in conditions such as pernicious anemia and goiter. Necessary minerals can generally be obtained from a healthy diet. Requirements vary among the different human, animal, and plant species.
