Thanksgiving Day



Thanksgiving Day, since 1863, an annual U.S. national holiday to give thanks for blessings received during the year. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November with feasting and prayers. The tradition was begun by the colonists of Plymouth, Mass, in 1621, and can be traced back to the English harvest festivals. In Canada, it is celebrated on the second Monday in October.
