Tendon

Tendon, fibrous structure at the ends of most muscles that transmits the force of contraction to the point of action (usually a bone). Tendons facilitate mechanical advantage and allow bulky power muscles to be situated away from small bones concerned with fine movements, as in forearm muscles acting on the hands.
