Teamsters Union

Teamsters Union (International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Chauffeurs, Warehousemen and Helpers of America), largest U.S. labor union, whose members are largely truckers. Formed by an amalgamation in 1903, the union grew during the presidency of Daniel Tobin (1907–52). Two of his successors, Dave Beck and J.R. Hoffa, were jailed for corruption, and in 1957 the Teamsters were expelled from the AFL-CIO.
