Teal

Teal, name for various species of river ducks (genus Anas) related to the mallard. The blue-winged teal of North America is one of the fastest flying migratory ducks, able to travel over 3,500 mi (5,632 km) in a month. Other teal include the Cape teal of Africa and the Laysan teal, which lives only on the island of Laysan, west of Hawaii.
