Casey Stengel



Stengel, Casey (c.1890–1975), U.S. baseball manager. A popular and garrulous figure, he managed the Brooklyn Dodgers (1934–36), Boston Braves (1938–43), New York Yankees (1949–60), and New York Mets (1962–65). Stengel led the Yankees to 7 World Series championships (1949–53, 56, 58) and was inducted to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1966.
