Spider monkey

Spider monkey, slender, pot-bellied monkey found in the forests of central and northern South America. It has a prehensile tail with a naked patch at the end that is ridged like a fingerprint. Spider monkeys swing through the trees by their long forearms and tails. The 2 species, the common and the woolly spider monkeys, live in small groups and feed solely on fruit.
