Sourwood



Sourwood, or sorrel tree, ornamental deciduous tree (Oxydendrum arboreum) of the heath family. The sourwood is native to the United States and grows in the woods of the southern states and in Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Ohio. The trees grow to about 75 ft (23 m) in height, have small, fragrant, white flowers, and oval, sour-tasting leaves that turn bright red in the autumn.
