Dame Edith Sitwell



Sitwell, Dame Edith (1887–1964), British poet and critic. A master technician of sound, rhythm, and symbol, she helped launch Wheels (1916), a magazine of experimental poetry, and wrote the satirical Façade (1922; music by William Walton).
