les Six

Six, les, term coined in 1920 for a group of French composers: Georges Auric, Louis Durey, Arthur Honegger, Darius Milhaud, Francis Poulenc, and Germaine Tailleferre, inspired by the anti-impressionist work of Erik Satie. They also worked with the writer Jean Cocteau.
