Siamese twins

Siamese twins, identical twins joined most commonly at the hip, chest, abdomen, buttocks, or head. Some share one internal organ, such as the heart or the liver. Originating from a single fertilized egg that has developed imperfectly, Siamese twins occur about once in every 50,000 births. Surgery in some cases can successfully separate these twins.
